As always Dom is finding new music and projects to keep him and us busy, and more importantly I finally met him last weekend! As a person I have chatted to on line probably the most out of all my virtual mates, and run a few music projects with it was great to finally meet, and also meant I got my hands on the CD version of volume 4 before they were posted out.
Dom had been saying for a while that this was the strongest one of the series of 5 albums in this series, and he wasn't wrong. This has a lot of the stand out tracks that I remember from the original idea of finding a band from each state in the USA, and opens with one of the best, the wonderfully named Poison Control Centre from Iowa, a state I only ever previously knew of as the birthplace of Bill Bryson. Good to see that not all of the residents became laconic travel writers with a fixation on the UK.
The tracks not in geographic order as usual, but fit together as an album and not just a lot of random music as is often the case with compilations. A few other favourites on here are Old Earz from Idaho and the track Lots Of Nerve and that instantly followed by Family Wagon from California. The variety of music available, not just from the US, shows in my view that just a few searches around the internet will mean that you don't need to watch talent shows and listen to Radio 1, the good stuff is just around the corner if you bother looking.
