Damn fools

Is there anywhere that people show their absolute idiocy more than at an airport? There are plus sides to airports, it generally means you are going somewhere, and like diplomatic immunity the laws are changed so that drinking pints at 6 AM is totally acceptable. However people seem to act like total idiots, quite how there are not daily fights at airports I just don't understand.

Having checked in and going to the security / passport / searching bit, I walked behind the same man the whole way. Six different people stopped us while in the queue to say "Do you want a plastic bag, all liquids and gels must be in one". The signs numbered in the hundreds, I was getting annoyed with the people doing their jobs, but it is for security (I have a far bigger moan about the whole security bit, another day maybe).

We then get to the unload all your stuff into a tray part, I could not even begin to count the amount of signs, announcements and people saying constantly "all laptops, iPads, Kindles, phones must be out of your bags". Clear enough you would think, and for almost everyone it is unlikely to be their first flight in the last 10 years, so this is not new.

As absolute luck would have it, the guy in front of me was the biggest idiot in the airport. Not only did he have a laptop in his bag, that he hadn't removed, he also had phones and keys in his pockets, and all manner of toiletries in his bag. He appeared to be completely surprised when the security guy was politelty telling him how much delay he was causing. If ever I wanted to punch someone in the back of the head it was him. 

In other idiot related news, the two guys next to me as I type this discussing their business pricing - do you know who I am? Not that I am important and I am not in your industry, but thanks for all the inside information, it may come in handy one day. 

Final idiot award goes to many of the people in Park Lane Upper block 39 yesterday, booing the team and manager, and wanting the old manager back, wow. You are a special bunch. I saw a seat and moved to it to get away from you, you are an embarrassment to football, let alone Spurs.
