How many in the car?

A strange story appeared in all papers and media yesterday about Prime Minister Cameron leaving his daughter in a country pub after lunch. There are more than a couple of aspects of the story that just don't make sense.

Why it took so long to "leak" and how it made it to the papers are not at all clear. Was it a local in the pub just selling the story, but if that was the case surely running it at the time would have made a lot more sense. If it was such a non-story at the time, why run it a few months later? The actual sequence of events is also not clear. Who was driving, how many people, there were security personnel there as well, who was doing what?

If the headline had been "Family On Benefits Leave Daughter In Pub In Newcastle After Booze Fuelled Lunch" I am guessing it wouldn't have been as laughed off as this appears to be. But, things happen, and I am sure Dave was mortified when he realised she was missing, which leads onto what I think is the actual story here.

We are constantly told that we live in times of terror, there are boogey men and terrorists the world over for who the kidnap of a Prime Ministers daughter would be an event of such significance it would be hard to comprehend. So, what exactly were the police, bodyguards etc all doing at this time? With echoes of an incident in Paris a few years ago, just how drunk was everyone involved in this?

Can you imagine a child of President Obama being left somewhere by their secret service?

Whatever truly happened here I doubt we will ever know, but there is something about this that just doesn't make sense.
